Terms and Conditions
Confidentiality
- Confidential sessions – All sessions at Aahna South Asian Therapy are confidential. Identities and personal information of clients are protected and ethical practices are informed.
Initial Consultation
- Purpose – The free 15-minute consultation will assess your needs and help us to determine the therapist who we think can best support you.
- Scheduling – Once there is the interest to move forward with sessions, the day and time is agreed upon for the client ans therapist to have their first session. The Contract and Assessment Form are sent for you to read and complete, if in agreement. Upon consent, completion and return your zoom link is sent to begin sessions.
Initial Session
- First session – The first session serves as an introduction between you and your therapist. Its goal is to assess your needs and determine whether you can work effectively together.
- Discussion points: This involves completion of the CORE-10 form, discussion of presenting issues and goals, the frequency of sessions, and the length of therapy required.
- Scheduling: Once ongoing sessions are established, your slots will be automatically reserved unless changes are mutually agreed upon between client and therapist.
- Terms and conditions: Each therapist has individual terms and conditions regarding possible rearrangement of sessions, if needed.
Payment
- Advance payment: Payments are sent 2-days prior to each session and are due with immediate effect.
Cancellation Policy and Rescheduling
- Notice requirement: If you need to cancel or reschedule a session, you must provide at least 7 days’ notice. Rescheduling is subject to the therapist’s availability.
Length of Therapy
- Short-term therapy: Involving a limited number of sessions to help you make important decisions and relieve high levels of stress. This is normally agreed upon between client and therapist.
- Long-term therapy: A more in-depth understanding and analysis of your experiences, dealing with the complexities of life.
Ending Therapy
- Ethical responsibility: Once therapy begins, therapists have an ethical duty to accompany clients until the process reaches a natural conclusion.
- Client’s choice: Clients can end therapy at any stage. We recommend a 2 week notice period for each year in therapy. This period allows for proper closure of the therapeutic process.
